Here’s the thing about life: it’s full of wonder…so wander. Curiosity is one of the best qualities in a human being. It’s a quality that allows personal growth, mentally and spiritually.
Last year, I took my wanderlust to a whole new level – exploring ten countries, going on adventure after adventure. My friends and I would spontaneously book trips and seek to discover the world. We witnessed unbelievable architecture in Budapest, hiked along the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, and were inspired by the chicest streetwear in Milan.
While living in Milan, I would convince my friends to hop on the metro with me and randomly pick a number between 1 and 10 to determine which stop to get off at. Then, we would simply explore that neighborhood; and each moment of spontaneity felt fulfilling. I often solo-adventured like this while abroad, and I apply the same concept here when driving on the freeway. I’m very fortunate and grateful for the experiences I have had abroad, but adventure is always right outside your door. You just have to go out and find it.
And if I’m speaking with candor, some of the best adventures are the ones enjoyed in solitude. During the end of my experience, I took the train to Cinque Terre, Italy in which beholds five beautiful, intimate towns along the Italian coast. From hiking day and night to sleeping on the beach beneath the stars, I started to reflect how much I learned during the most five incredible months of my life to date.
Within exploring the world and exploring life, I lost and found myself all over again. I met strangers who shared their stories and was enlightened by each and every one’s lust for life. It’s crucial to not live to merely exist, but to live life full of passion and zeal. We cross paths with people for a reason, and these strangers made me love adventure that much more. You’ll discover the most stunning scenic views that will make you radiate the most gigantic smile and meet people who will touch your heart and soul. We live in a beautiful world with beautiful people, and adventures will open your eyes and mind to this idea that some may claim foreign.
Now get lost.
