Our mantra is one idea, one person, one action can change the world. We believe that we each have a purpose in this world, and through our purposes, we impact the history of humanity. You may think, "History? No no no...I'm not a part of history." Ahhh, but yes you are.
Each small action makes a difference: holding the door open for someone behind you, picking up that piece of trash you didn't carelessly drop on the ground, telling that stranger he looks good today. The positive energy you put into the universe reflects on this earth. With more than 7 billion people on Earth, each human being can make positive choices so we can see the change we wish to see in this world.
We believe in a world where every kind thought, every kind action goes a long way - where people believe that kindness is virtue. Where kindness grows and becomes the central topic of news. Where people believe in helping others, even strangers. We believe in a world of mindfulness. Where people are aware of the good and the bad they do. And we hope that people realize that every choice they make affects this earth. We believe that the foundation of life relies on the conscious effort of making good choices, so that every living species can live in peace and harmony. We believe in the saying that “Happiness never decreases from being shared,” because as Buddha mentioned, “Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle and the life of the candle will not be shortened.” At SOLO Eyewear, we aim to make a difference, one smile at a time.
We’re in this world together so we should work together to make it the best it can be. The actions you take show what kind of world you want so say yes to kindness, peace, and love. Your decisions today can create a better tomorrow.
SOLO - one idea. one person. one action can change the world.
When I was in high school, I had an awesome opportunity to make some money for college by housing foreign exchange students. My parents had a back-house and over my senior year, we had 3 different exchange students live there. Among other things I have great memories of taking them to english class, showing them around Los Angeles teaching them to surf. What started out as a way to make extra money turned into a unique and personal experience- one in which I grew as a person, learned about different cultures, and made friends who I am still in touch with today.
This is a photo of Alan, one of my exchange students from Mexico City. He had a great time staying with us, and most important of all, became a Kings fan…
One time my friends and I took Alan camping in San Clemente. There were seven of us: My two friends Sean and Connor, Sean's girlfriend from Texas, and two of her friends. We spend a few days hanging out, surfing, and barbecuing food on the beach- not something out of the ordinary for any kid from Southern California, but certainly different for an exchange student from Mexico City.
No matter where you live, there are tons of websites that can connect you with a foreign exchange student. There are a million reasons to host, and hardly any not to. I would recommend it one hundred percent.

ACTS OF KINDNESS SCAVENGER HUNT
We had the opportunity to host our first annual Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt on November 10, 2012. We pumped gas and cleaned windshields for strangers, carried groceries, picked up trash on the beach, gave free hugs and high-fives, bought coffee for strangers, gave people in need the shirts off our backs, greeted people with inspirational signs and words of encouragement, and so much more. Thanks to a great turnout of friends, family and supporters alike; it was an incredible success and a lot of fun too! And whenever you get a chance, make sure to check out our video about the benefits of Acts of Kindness!
Finally, thanks to the attention and appreciation our fans have shown, we have been able to make some splashes in the retail world. We are now available in the following retail locations:
